DPAQ 20th Anniversary

Photos from Anniversary Dinner

Darwin Patchworkers turned 20 on May 1st 2004. The Celebrations began with a reception for members at Government House, Darwin, on 28th April, at the invitation of His Honour, Administrator Mr Ted Egan AO, and Ms Nerys Evans, who has since kindly agreed to become our Patron.

This was followed by an Anniversary Dinner on Saturday, 1st May at the Top End Hotel, with Alvena Hall as guest speaker. Two longstanding Members came from Alice Springs and Newcastle NSW, and numerous messages of congratulation were received from other distant members. It was a jovial evening, with Alvena commanding the rapt attention even of the non-quilters in the party with her unusual slides of wrecked cars in the desert as inspiration for quilts, and scientific approaches to her activities.
